Women in Film & Television on Media and Human Trafficking

March 20, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM

March is Women’s History Month, and WIFT-Houston is turning its spotlight on the serious issue of Human Trafficking and the Houston area initiatives dedicated to ending it. You may have witnessed trafficking activities or encountered trafficked individuals and not realized it. But even if you do, do you know what to do?

To bring the Houston film community a dynamic and informative program, we have partnered with experts from organizations that work tirelessly to combat human trafficking in our area. They will bring us up to date with the facts about this scourge (no fake news here!), highlight programs that aid in prevention and assisting survivors, and reveal what you as a concerned citizen — and as a filmmaker inspired by truth and vision — could do to help win the war on human trafficking.

Our thanks in advance to these participating organizations:

· United Against Human Trafficking
· City of Houston Anti-Human Trafficking – Office of the Mayor
· Children at Risk
· Harris County Sheriff’s Office

Open to the public: this event is free to all, but seating is limited to the first 150 individuals. The program includes time for audience Q&A, followed by mixing/mingling.
