This certification course teaches the necessary skills for the industry’s entry-level position of Production Assistant. Taught by active working industry professionals, this workshop will help you develop the skills and flexibility needed to be successful in finding work and building a career.

The P.A. Workshop also creates an opportunity to learn about industry positions beyond the entry level in departments such as camera, locations, makeup, wardrobe. and the art department. After completing this workshop, students will have learned the job requirements to succeed as a P.A. and realistically visualize a career path working up the ladder in the film, television and commercial industries.

Benefits of the P.A. Workshop:

  • Career counseling and strategies for finding employment
  • Specific training for the Production Assistant job position
  • Valuable information on what happens on set
  • P.A. Workshop Certification for Texas residents 18 and older *(see note below) by the Texas Film Commission upon completion of the course
  • Certification entitles students with Texas residency to be listed in the Texas Production Directory as a TFC certified P.A., available on the Texas Film Commission’s website.

* (due to insurance requirements on most sets, students under 18 will not be added to the Production Directory until they turn 18 years old. It will be the students’ responsibility to contact the Texas Film Commission to update their status.)
